| | Hey surfers,We need to talk about fins.Actually, we need more than that. We need to talk about it, to study it, to test it and we need to bring it to you. This week FCS and Channel Island launched a new fin set "Upright". The new fin sparked a discussion amongst our friends around the characteristics of fins and the importance of understanding the details. The debate around fins can get very complex. Lots of things that you can analyze but unfortunately I don't think there's easy way to tell us what's right or wrong, good or bad for the combination of you, your board and the waves you ride. But that will change...possibly. Here's what we're going to do:- Zé and I are going to test a bunch of fins and report back on our findings
- We'll geek out on the fin theories to come up with something that you can use to choose your fins
Let's hope the bloody lockdown goes away soon. We're on the hook to deliver a few things to you.In the meantime, send us suggestions on fins you'd like to see tested and how we could put this together to be more valuable to you.Reply and let us know. |

| Finally found a bit more information on the Flat Earth and Slater riding it. Great clip on the thought process behind the board. Slater - "Any time the waves are small that's what I jump on". "All I wanted to ride last year".
Akila - "The apex of my rail is lower and and my foil is a little lower on the rail so we tend to lose about a 1 liter there..so we try and educate people to go almost up a liter to compensate"Bonus: Noel Salas interviews Akila Aipa |

Unwanted shapes- this is such a cool project. Shapers will make a board out of Covid19 waste and the boards will be ridden during the WSL event in Portugal. |
